Leonard J. on June 2, 2004 of Haddon Heights, NJ, formerly of Phila., PA age 63. Beloved husband of Kathleen (nee Naimoli). Devoted father of Leonard, Jr., Mary Jo (Roger) Williams and the late Tessa Ann. Loving Pop Pop of Zane and Luke Williams. Son of Theresa (nee Perri) and the late Joseph.
Mr. Terranova was a funeral director for over 40 years. He graduated from Bishop Newman H.S., Temple College and Eckels Mortuary School. Leonard was one of the first funeral directors to volunteer as an eye enucleator with the Delaware Valley Lions Eye Bank. Mr. Terranova also gave of himself and his time to many other organizations. He was past Grand Knight of Phila. Council #196, Knights of Columbus, past president of Phila. Funeral Directors Association, past president of the South Phila. Lions Club, member of Phila. Chapter of Unico, Malvern Retreat Caenaculum Group, Sons of Italy Lodge Haddon Heights, Circolo Italiano of Southern New Jersey. Leonard was a board member for St. Peter’s School, St. Rita’s Church parish council and finance committee. He served in the Air Force and the Air Force Reserves from 1962-1968.
Leonard was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family at the shore. He always took pleasure in the arts and during his illness he created watercolor and oil paintings. These paintings brought him joy and contentment. Many of his paintings can be found in the homes of family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday 6:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday 8:30 to 10:15 AM. Terranova Funeral Home, Inc. 402 White Horse Pike, Haddon Heights. Funeral Mass 11:00 AM St. Rose of Lima Church, 4th Avenue and Kings Highway, Haddon Heights. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to Abramson Cancer Center at University of Pennsylvania, Medical Center Development Office, 3535 Market Street, Suite 750, Phila., PA 19104.
