Janet Louise (Boyer) Farner, 66, of South Middleton Township, passed away Monday morning, Feb. 4, 2008, at home.
She was born on Dec. 14, 1941 in Lebanon, to the late Henry F. and Winifred Pyers Boyer.
A graduate of Boiling Springs High School, Class of 1959, and Shippensburg State University, she retired from Allenberry Inn and Playhouse in Boiling Springs, and was formerly employed by South Middleton School District.
A member of the AARP and Shippensburg University Alumni Association, she was a faithful member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Carlisle.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Farner Jr.; two daughters, Dr. Louise A. (and husband, David) Prince of Tully, N.Y., and Michele Farner of Royse City, Texas; a son, Charles E. III ( and wife, Kristen) Farner of Landisburg; two brothers, John (and wife, Louisa) Boyer of Mechanicsburg and George (and wife, Donna) Boyer of Fort Myers, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick's Shrine Church, 140 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle, with the Rev. William C. Forrey as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Church Cemetery, North Middleton Township. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rosary at 8:30 p.m., in Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Patrick Building Fund, the Hospice of Central PA or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
