Violet I. Smith, 87, formerly of Gorin, Missouri, a member of the Gorin United Methodist Church since November 1924, passed away at Scotland County Care Center, Memphis, Missouri, where she has resided since her health failed in April 1990, on Tuesday, July 4, 2000. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, July 6, 2000, 10:30 a.m., at Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, officiated by the Rev. Dena Saip. Burial will follow at Gorin Cemetery, Gorin.
