George F. Branley, 69, lifelong resident of Wallkill, NY, a grounds mechanic for American Airlines at Stewart Airport, died Friday, May 15, 2009 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. He was 69.
The son of the late Melville G. and the late Agnes M. Thorpe Branley, he was born December 29, 1939 in Newburgh, NY.
George was a U.S. Army Veteran, life member of the NRA and of the New Paltz VFW Post #8645, Plattekill Rod & Gun Club, Modena Rod & Club, and the Ulster Cty Trappers Association.
He was the husband of Kathleen Mead Branley, who survives at home; he also is survived by a son, Haico Boos of Germany; sisters: Barbara Leghorn and husband, George of Newburgh, Marlene Kane of Naples, FL, and Betty Crocitto and husband, Frank of New Paltz, NY; sister-in-law, Patricia Mead of Wallkill, NY; greatly loved by nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Frank K. Branley.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 17, from 3-8 p.m. at the White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 N. Plank Rd. (Rt32), Newburgh, NY.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 18, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Rt 52, Walden, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke's Dialysis Center, 4 Corwin Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550.
