Doris C. Seward, age 77 went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 13, 2010, in the Hennis Care Centre of Bolivar, Ohio following a long illness. She was a resident of Bolivar since 1952.
She was born on September 20 , 1932 at Assumption, Illinois to the late James I.
and Ailcie M. (Scoles) Carson. She graduated in 1950 from Moweaqua High School, Moweaqua, Illinois. She retired in 1992 from the U.S. Postal Service as Post Master of the Bolivar, Ohio Post Office. Had worked for Heinemann Saw Co. and Diebold Safe Co. both of Canton and also was a civilian contractor for the U.S. Government. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Bolivar, a former member of the Bolivar American Legion Auxiliary, member of NARFE, past member of the Bolivar Fire Dept. and was one of the first members of the dept. to become an E.M.T.. She was a former member of the Wilkshire Woman’s Golf League.
Preceded in death in addition to her parents is her husband Dallas L. Seward on September 12, 1996 and to whom she was married for 43 years, a son Andrew James Seward, and a great grandson Leander Seward. Surviving is a daughter Christina “Tina” Alexander and son Nathan both of Bolivar, sons; Robert (Rebecca) Seward and children Melissa, Brian (Stacy) and Nicole of Bolivar, and Richard (Tammy) Seward and children Ben, Curtis both of Bolivar and Matthew of Camp Pendleton, Calif., brother Bob Carson of Newton, Ill., and sisters; Norman (Jerry) Wright of Trivoli, Ill., Lucille (Burl) Harper of Royal Oak, Mich., and Lois (Jack) Keho of Allerton, Iowa.
Her funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00am in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 156 Poplar St. SW, Bolivar, Ohio 44612 with calling hours in the Lebold Funeral Home, 248 Park Ave. SW, Bolivar, Ohio on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. On Monday evening at 6:30 there will be a Bolivar American Legion Auxiliary Service. Officiating in Rev. Mike Pozzuto and burial in Ft. Laurens Cemetery, Bolivar, Ohio.
