Charles James Whaley age 71, of Madison passed away Tuesday, June 8 in the early afternoon. He was known by Charlie in Connecticut and Jimmy in New York where he was raised by his beloved deceased parents Arthur and Josephine Whaley. He is predeceased by his son Michael E. Whaley. He leaves behind his wife Carol Whaley, son Jack Whaley, his wife Laura and grandson Matthew, his daughter Marybeth Whaley, granddaughter Brianna Whaley and grandson Michael Whaley. His New York family will miss him very much. He is also survived by his brother, John Whaley and wife Pat, a sister, Ann Whaley and sister, Mary Tafarella and husband Robert. Charlie has many nieces and nephews which he loved and will be watching over as well as his grandchildren who all called him Pepa.
He moved to Madison, Connecticut in 1968 and raised his children Michael, Marybeth and Jack with his wife Carol. He was an elevator mechanic and contractor and retired from Connecticut Elevator which was a family owned business. Charlie loved fishing and talking politics with all of his friends.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Saint George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford, CT on Saturday July 24 at 11:30 am.
