Glen Wayne Frizzell, age 78, of Owatonna, Minnesota, and Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, died Wednesday, July 06, 2005 at his home in Owatonna.
He was born December 16, 1926 in Plainview, Arkansas, the son of Lee Houston and MaryLou (Parker) Frizzell. He graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayettville with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture in 1953. Glen served in the U.S. Army from 1945-1946. On November 11, 1956 he married Rita Heiderscheid at the United Methodist Church in Owatonna. He worked for the Owatonna Canning Company as V.P. of Operations and Engineering for 38 years, retiring in 1992. In 1993 Glen and Rita moved to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. They spent their summers in Owatonna, MN.
Glen was an avid golfer. He loved to fish, play bridge, do woodworking, and was a lifetime member of the Elks.
Glen is survived by wife Rita of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and Owatonna, MN, daughter Diane & Bob Racek of Owatonna, MN, son James & Nikki Frizzell of Medina, MN, grandchildren Shannon and Nate, brother Harold & Amanda Frizzell of Waldron, AR, sisters Bernice Potter of Tulsa, OK, and Grace Plummer of Tulsa, OK, sister-in-law Bernice Wilberscheid of Phoenix, AZ, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at United Methodist Church in Owatonna on Saturday, July 9, 2005, from 1-2 P.M. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 P.M. at United Methodist Church in Owatonna. The Reverend Pat Hinker will be officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna. Honors will be provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Memorials are preferred to the Owatonna United Methodist Church, Christ of the Hills Methodist Church, or to the Mayo Foundation.
