Ira E. Dollar, age 88, of Glenwood, died Saturday, December 25, 2010.
He was born on February 16, 1922 at Glenwood, the son of Frank Dollar and Offie Sorrel Dollar. On November 24, 1947, he was married to Lola Mae Smith.
A U. S. Army veteran and recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, he served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Mount Calvary Church in Glenwood.
He is survived by his wife, Lola Mae Dollar of Glenwood; three children and their spouses, Lillian Langtree and her husband, Douglas Brown, of Poulsbo, Washington, Dan Dollar and his wife, Deanice, and Ruth Bopp and her husband, Gordon, all of Glenwood; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Dollar of Biggs, California and Monroe Dollar of Shreveport, Louisiana; two sisters, Nola Skates of Hot Springs and Viola Craft of Glenwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 28, 2010 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Ralph Hamilton and Bro. Norman Kincannon officiating.
Visitation will be Monday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Interment will be in the Coker Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Williamson, Roger Craft, Leroy Dollar, Ken Dillon, Zachary Hamilton and Junior Smith.
