Homer Boyd Cain
Homer Boyd Cain, 81, husband of Evelyn Collins Cain, of Staunton, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, in Staunton. He was born on July 28, 1930, in Staunton, a son of the late John Henry and Nannie Alice Cain. Prior to retirement, Mr. Cain was employed by General Electric and Genicom with 34 years of service as an Electronic Tech. He spent two years in the United States Army serving in Germany. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Jo Ann Powell, Betty Milstead, Gracie Riley; and one brother, Thomas Nelson "Tommy" Cain. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a special nephew and his wife, Frank and Kip Cain of Ruckersville, Virginia; a number of other nieces and nephews; two special friends, Keith Kerr and Jan Satiros; and wonderful care givers, Woodrow and Delores Adair.
A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2011, at Thornrose Cemetery with Dr. Daniel Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2011, at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Staunton, 18 West Frederick Street, Staunton.
