Ruth Kathaleen (Dunn) Myrtle GREENVILLE Ruth Kathaleen (Dunn) Myrtle, 83, of Greenville, died on Friday, March 1, 2013. Mrs. Myrtle was born on April 28, 1929, in Leesport, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Russell and Myrtle B. Dunn. She retired from DuPont in Waynesboro, where she worked for 25 years. She had a green thumb and loved to garden. She is survived by three children, Kaye M. Lawrence of Greenville, Virginia, Rita M. Handley and husband, Richard, of Stuarts Draft, Rick W. Myrtle and wife, Pam, of Apex, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jeremy Lawrence and wife, Amanda and their children, Chase, Trevor and Olivia of Georgia, Greg Myrtle of Norfolk, Geoffrey Myrtle of Durham, North Carolina, Kathaleen "Katey" Handley Carr and husband, Bent-Lee, of Blacksburg. She is also survived by a brother, R. Kenneth Dunn and a sister, Glenna Rae Cash, both of Waynesboro; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a number of devoted lifelong friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and his wife, Gene Earl and Jean Dunn; beloved son-in-law, Gary W. Lawrence; and five siblings that died in infancy. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted by her nephew, Pastor Mark D. Dunn at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at Riverview Cemetery on Tuesday. Active pallbearers for the service will be her grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and other family members attending the service. Friends and family may also visit the home of her daughter, Kaye Lawrence, 2640 Cold Springs Road, Greenville, VA 24440.
