Adrian "Pat" Chenaille
1932 - 2013 POWNAL Adrian "Pat" Chenaille, 80, a resident of Spruce Lane, died unexpectedly Monday, April 1, 2013.
Born in Bennington on July 26, 1932, he was the son of Ernest and Olive (LaFrenier) Chenaille. He received his education in the Pownal schools.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, Pat served with the 172nd Infantry from Bennington and was stationed in Germany during that time.
Pat married the former Dorothy "Dot" Romanowski at St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington on Nov. 29, 1952.
Pat was a well-known self-employed carpenter in the area for many years. Pat and Dot also operated the Mid-Town Bowl for nine years.
He enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed fishing trips on Cape Cod.
Survivors include his wife, Dot Chenaille of Pownal; his children and their spouses. Ernie and Donna Chenaille, Cathy and Donny Vosburgh, Wendy Chenaille and Tom Moore, all of Bennington, and Larry and Candy Chenaille of Thomaston, Conn.; four grandchildren, Tracy Maroney (Brian Jr.), Carmen Chenaille (John Razai), Tom Chenaille (Amanda) and Doug Oldham( Morgan); five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Theresa Forcier and Victoria Baker, both of Bennington, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pat was predeceased by a sister and two brothers, Madeline Krawczyk, Joseph and Alfred "Red" Chenaille
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Service of Remembrance celebrating the life of Pat Chenaille will be held from the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 6 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service.
Should friends desire, contributions in Pat Chenaille's memory may be made to either the Pownal Rescue Squad or the Pownal Valley Fire Department through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
