Pederson, Lael C. age 84, of Detroit Lakes, MN, formerly of Mpls, MN, died April 2, 2013 at her residence. Lael Catherine Pederson was born on October 24, 1928 in Mpls, MN to Thomas and Mildred Iltis Withrow. She grew up and attended school in Mpls, MN and later in International Falls, MN. She was a graduate of the University of Minnesota. She worked as a secretary for the FBI in Paris, France. On June 10, 1961 she was united in marriage to Raymond H. Pederson. They made their home in Mpls, and Lael worked as a reporter for the Minneapolis Star Tribune Newspaper. She and Raymond moved to Detroit Lakes, MN in 2003 to be with their family. Lael volunteered as a Docent at the Mpls Art Institute and was also a member of the Woman's Club of Mpls. She is survived by her husband, Raymond; one daughter, Leslie (Andrew) Berger, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and three grandchildren, Laura, Cara, and Bret Burger.
