Travis Stock Kleppe, 15, of Thorndale, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at his home. Services are set for 1 p.m. Friday, May 3 in the Hutto Bible Church with Pastors Bobby Pruitt and Sean Chandler officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Travis was born in Austin on May 7, 1997 to Dennis and Angela (Bridges) Kleppe, he was a sophomore at Legacy Early College High School in Taylor. Earning the rank of Life Scout in Boy Scout Troop No. 12 in Hutto, Travis served as Den Chief and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, was a member of The Order of the Arrow-Brotherhood, and was a camp counselor and lifeguard at the Boy Scouts of America Lost Pines Scout Reservation for the past two years. He played a trumpet in the band, and at Hutto Middle School he played football and was a member of the National Junior Honor Society.
Survivors include his loving parents, Dennis and Angela Kleppe of Thorndale; brothers, Trey and Tyler Kleppe of Thorndale; grandfathers, Dennis Kleppe Sr. of Sullivan, Ill., and Eddy Bridges & wife, Cheryl of College Station; great-grandparents, Evelyn Kleppe of Durant, Iowa, Dorothy Holland of College Station and Ed Ivey of Houston; aunts and uncle, DiAnn Kleppe of Bennett, Iowa, Shawn & Pamela Johnson of San Antonio; and cousin, Conner Johnson of San Antonio.
