Broin, Kenneth E. Age 88 of Robbinsdale. Born August 18, 1924, died suddenly on May 2, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Harriet, son Steve, and daughter Carrie. Ken was born in Minneapolis and graduated from North High School in 1942. He served in the army and was stationed in London during WWII. After the war, he graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BBA degree and began a 57-year career with US Bank. He was a member of the Minneapolis Rotary for 30 years, and was a Paul Harris Fellow. In 2008, he was presented with the University of Minnesota Regent's Award for his four decades of service to the University of Minnesota Crookston. He was a member of Christ English Lutheran Church and associate member of Mindekirken, the Norwegian Memorial Lutheran Church. He was proud of his Norwegian heritage, and actively participated in Sons of Norway, Syttende Mai celebrations, and the Torske Klubben. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Torske Klubben Scholarship Fund (Check payable to U of M), Norway House, Minneapolis Rotary Club, or donor's choice.
