Herberg, Roger V. 71, of Sparta, WI, died June 25, 2013 at Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta. He was born in Winona, MN on September 24th, 1941 to Vernon and Louise (Baron) Herberg. He was raised in Farmington, MN and graduated from Farmington High School. He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a degree in business in 1964. He was a member of the Army Reserve for 8 years. Most of his career was spent working as a sales rep for Hart and Cooley, selling heating and venting supplies. He did extensive traveling with his job and made many friends across the country. Roger married Judy Bickford in 1965. They had 2 children prior to their divorce. He was united in marriage with Eileen (Aasen) Peterson in 1991. Roger and Eileen enjoyed many weekends at their lake house in Holcombe, WI. He loved to fish and hunt and golf with his buddies. Roger is survived by his wife, Eileen; daughter, Amy (Glenn) Mathis; and son, Mark (special friend, Dora) Herberg; his father, Vernon Herberg; stepsons, Cory (fiancee, Rebecca) and Craig Peterson; and grandchildren, Cameron, Lily, and May Mathis, Dane and Jerzi Herberg, Lucas Peterson, and Damen Peterson. He is also survived by his sisters, Marlys Marschall and Patricia (Marvin) Alexander; brothers, Douglas (Colleen) Herberg and Michael (Nancy) Herberg; brothers-in-law, DeWayne (Artis) Aasen, William (Janet) Aasen, Ken (Martha) Aasen; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Aasen, Mary (Clifford) Olson, and Patricia (Barry) Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise; brother-in-law, John Marschall; and stepson, Derek Peterson. A celebration of life will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Lanham- Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, with Father John S. Manohar officiating. A luncheon will follow at Club Oasis, Sparta. Burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
