DOWDY, Naumann S., 94, of Richmond, Va., passed away July 2, 2013. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James H., Ryland and Wellford Dowdy. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Arline Lorente Dowdy; three children, Brenda Bauder, Naumann S. Dowdy Jr. and wife, Marilyn, Llewellyn P. Dowdy and wife, Judy; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a former superintendent of welfare in Culpeper County and taught at Bainbridge High School in Richmond. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 5, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd.
