Edward Pritzker Obituary

Pritzker, Edward S. Passed away on 9/1/13 at the age of 94. Preceded in death by his wife, Dolores. He is survived by sons, Marc Pritzker, Fred Pritzker (Renee), Tom Pritzker (Joanne Sunquist); daughters, Sandy Rubenstein, Connie Rubenstein (Bob Lundeen), Nancy Madson (John); grandchildren, Josh, Laura, Jacob, Sarah, Billie and Sam Pritzker, Alexie and Suzie Lundeen, Noah Madson; and his sister, Jeanne Silverman. Edward was a graduate of St. Thomas Academy, attended college at the University of Minnesota and served his country as an Army officer during WWII. His career as a grocer, liquor retailer and wholesale meat trader continued into his 80s and was characterized by integrity and fairness. In 1974 Edward and Dolores Rubenstein married, each for the second time. He loved his new daughters no less than his three sons and along with his beloved Do, made their family the centerpiece of his long and well-lived life. He was not a rich man, but along with his love he was generous with his money. Family bonds were his only treasure. Edward spent the last 8 years of his life at Sholom West. Special thanks to his many caregivers who treated him with kindness and respect. Funeral service FRIDAY, 11:00 AM, TEMPLE ISRAEL, 2324 Emerson Ave. S., Mpls. Donations preferred to the Angelman Syndrome Foundation (www.angelman.org) or the Sholom Foundation (www.sholom.com) SHIVA: Temple Israel (Sat. 7 PM).
