Phyllis Stueve Obituary

Stueve, Phyllis M. Loving wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma and sister. Age 83 of Mendota Heights. Age 83 of Mendota Heights. A long-time member of Trinity Lone Oak Lutheran Church, passed away January 8, 2014 after a long illness. Phyllis was born in Ward County, ND and grew up in Fargo. She graduated from the University of Minnesota & taught school in Henning, MN where she met Walter Stueve. They married in Fargo and lived in Hibbing & Moorhead before settling in West St. Paul, MN. Phyllis was active in community, school and church events for over fourty years. She is rejoining her husband, Walter; parents, Melvin & Mabel Gorder; sister, Adeline Richards; brothers- in-law, Charles & Melvin Stueve; and her in-laws, John & Tena Stueve. Phyllis is survived by her children, Lynne (Leo) Baerthel of St. Paul, Mark Stueve of Mendota Heights & Kent (Jennifer) Stueve of Chester Springs, PA; grandchildren, Heather Baerthel, Matthew (Laura) Baerthel and Miranda & Katie Stueve; 3 great- grandchildren; brother, Merle (Kay) Gorder of CA; brothers-in-law, Gerhard Stueve of Rochester, MN and Donald Stueve of AZ; sisters-in-law, Doreen Bogen of Owatonna & Sandra Stueve of Henning; and many other relatives & friends from the Henning area. Funeral Service 10:30 AM Monday, January 13th at TRINITY LONE OAK LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2950 Highway 55 in Eagan with a visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
