DRABKIN, NAOMI WEISS Naomi Weiss Drabkin, age 81, a resident of Westport for the past 43 years, passed away on Tuesday April 1, 2014 at Norwalk Hospital. Naomi was born in Norwich, CT, a daughter of the late Harry and Mildred Drabkin, and maintained her practice of Psychiatry in Westport, CT and New York City for many years. She attended Norwich Free Academy, Jackson College, received her Bachelors Degree from City College of New York, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, attended Columbia University, received her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and completed her residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, where she was appointed clinical professor of Psychiatry. Naomi was a former medical director at the New Haven Veterans Hospital Psychiatric Unit. She is survived by her devoted son, Jeffrey Weiss of Westport, cherished sisters, Muriel Gund of Las Vegas, NV., Joan Chernizer of New York, NY., loving cousins, Marc & Carol Olins, Leona Alexander of Hartford, CT., beloved aunt Lydia Levine of Woodmont, CT., and by adored nephews, Marc & Steven Chernizer and Larry & Jeffrey Gund. Services will take place on Thursday April 3, 2014 at 1:00 PM at The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road in Fairfield, with interment following at Rodeph Sholom Cemetery on Kings Highway in Fairfield. Shiva will be observed at the Weiss residence in Westport following the interment through Monday evening.
