Deborah Pankey Obituary

Deborah Gail Pankey

Moulton

Deborah, a member of New Antioch Church of Christ, was born August 14, 1948 to Clayton and Christine Thompson Terry. She attended school at Courtland. She married Kyle Pankey in 1971. Deborah passed from this world on the evening of July 2, 2014 at her home.

She began working in the insurance department at Lawrence County Medical Hospital. Her love of flowers began by owning and operating The Plant Corner from 1974 to 1977. She co-owned Ben Franklin and Country Charm with her husband. Then there came time as a housewife. About 1990, she and Kyle started dealing antiques. Nearly 10 years later, she worked alongside her husband helping to establish The Antique Strawberry and Apple Festivals.

Deborah's hobbies included growing flowers, sewing and antiquing. She passed her love of each of her hobbies to her daughter, Heather. And she very much loved spending time with her granddaughters.

Survivors include her devoted husband of 43 years, Kyle Pankey. She was a proud mother to Chris Pankey and Heather Pankey Adair (Jason). She lovingly cherished her two granddaughters, Mary-Frances Adair and Genney Adair. She is also survived by her mother, Christine Thompson Terry; two brothers, Rickey Terry (Vickie) of Moulton and Tracey Terry of Courtland; one sister, Reeta Terry Gilchrist (Pibby) of Courtland and special friends, Regina and Greg Green.

Special thanks are given to Hospice of the Tennessee Valley for their love, care and compassion.

Pallbearers will be Lee Hanback, Randy Moultrie, Danny Darnell, Chris Henderson, Keith Gilley and Kenneth Hanvey. Richard Montgomery will be an honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be at Lawrence Funeral Home in Moulton on Saturday July 5th from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at Lawrence Funeral Home on Sunday July 6th beginning at 3 p.m. with a short visitation period one hour prior. The services will be conducted by Bill Becker, Kenneth Johnson and Ray McWhorter. Burial will follow in Moulton Memory Gardens.
