John Eychaner Obituary

1936 - 2014
John "Dutch" Edward Eychaner was born July 23, 1936 in Story, WY to Milton and Alice Eychaner, the youngest of five children. He was raised in Story and spent time on the family ranch in Rotten Grass, Mt. He attended school in Story, WY and at Pillsbury Military Academy in Owatonna, MN graduating in 1954.
He married Barbara Ann Geier on Nov, 25, 1957. They spent their first years of marriage in Lawton, OK, where Johnny served in the United States Army and where their oldest daughter Joy was born. After serving four years in the Army, he and Barbara returned to Wyoming where they lived and worked on the Geier family ranch at Ft. Phil Kearny. They added two daughters to the family, Cathy and Lois.
After the ranch sold they moved to the Wrench ranch for several years. Johnny went to work for Big Horn Coal and later at Decker Coal so they moved to Ranchester. They then moved to the Fetterman Hills area to view their beloved Big Horn Mountains. He continued working for Garber Agri-business until ill health forced his complete retirement.
Johnny was a quiet honest loving man who had a close relationship with God. His yearly goal for many years was to read the Bible from cover to cover. His great sense of humor came out in many areas and sometimes when least expected. Music was an integral part of his life. He played guitar, fiddle, piano, organ, banjo, accordion and harmonica by ear. He also loved model trains. His family, church and fiends were always the center of his life.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Milton, Robert and James. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Eychaner, daughters, Joy (Marvin) Goffena, Catherine Johnston, Lois Eychaner. Grandchildren: Joshua (Crystal) Goffena, Alli Johnston, Caitlyn (Zach) Anderson, Jennifer Goffena, and Austin Eychaner, Great Grandchildren: Nazareth, Zeyden, Zion, Novalee Anderson, and Easton Goffena., two sisters, Dollie Reno and Leah Morgart.
