John Franklin 'Frankie' Stephenson Sr.


Funeral for John Franklin "Frankie" Stephenson Sr., 66, of Danville will be today, July 22, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Timothy Lipsey officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Stephenson, who died Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Falkville Health Care Center, was born October 13, 1947, in Lawrence County to Herman and Annie Holt Stephenson. He retired from Abercrombie Chevrolet in Hartselle after being a mechanic there for 42 years. He was a man of very few words who loved Alabama Crimson Tide football, traveling, being a part of his grandkids activities and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Madine Stephenson Hale; two brothers-in-law, Yual Hale and Cecil Legg; and mother-in-law, Josephine White.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Edna Jean White Stephenson;

one son, John Franklin Stephenson Jr. (Tanya) of Cullman; one daughter, Cynthia Dawn Stephenson Jones (KJ) of Huntsville; one brother, Hulian Stephenson (Ann) of Hartselle; two sisters, Shirley Stephenson Garlen (William) of Danville and Geroldine Stephenson Legg (special friend, Bud Steele) of Danville; three grandchildren, Kyle Stephenson (Cassie), Mattie Stephenson and

K.C. Jones; and father-in-law, J.E. White of Hartselle.

Pallbearers will be David Priemau, Shane Weaver, Jason White, Ray Stephenson, Larry Hannah and Josh Hannah.
