William Apodaca Obituary

1954 - 2007
William “Sky” Apodaca, age 53, of Hot Springs, died Saturday, March 31, 2007.

He was born on January 13, 1954 at Fort Knap, Montana. He was a member of the Hunkpapa Sioux Indian tribe and a direct descendant of Sitting Bull. He was a friend to the Red Wolf Band of the United Lumbee Indian Nation.

Mr. Apodaca was an Army veteran of the Vietnam era. He worked for the last 11 years for Diversified Construction. He was a friend to all and proud of his Indian heritage and service to his country.

He is survived by his fiancée, Linda Steiner of Hot Springs; and many loving friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 4, 2007 in the McDowell Cemetery with the Rev. Miguel “Soars Like a Hawk” Hernandez and Chief Robert Bruce “Silver Star Turtle” Carter officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Memorials may be made to the Carpenter Bible Foundation, 326 Coventry Trail, Royal, Arkansas, 71968.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
