Alma Deloyce Avant, 74, of Palestine, Texas passed from this life October 12, 2005 at Cartmell Home for the Aged. She was born December 30, 1930 in Hampton, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of Westside Assembly of God Church of Palestine, Texas. She grew up in Hampton, Arkansas and spent much of her life in Camden and Bearden, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Avant; her parents, Henry and Molly Blann; three brothers, Irvin, Leroy and Ralph Blann; three sisters, Imogene Lockridge, Mildred Avant and Chris Blansett.
She is survived by one son, David Avant of Dunbar, West Virginia; one daughter, Kim Tilmon of Palestine, Texas; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Buddy and Roy Dean Blann of Hampton; two sisters, Shirley Dewar of Camden and Relda Jane Benoit of Lafayette, Louisiana.
Visitation will be 3pm until 6pm Sunday at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton, Arkansas. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 17 at Happy Home Assembly of God Church on Highway 167 just outside of Hampton. Rev. Larry Tilmon and Rev. James Radord will be officiating.
