Alvaro Anselmo Alvarez Aguilar 1960 - 2013 Alvaro "Abby" Anselmo Alvarez Aguilar was born November 1, 1960. He lived in Bakersfield his whole life and attended Colonel Baker School, Curran Jr. High, Foothill High and Bakersfield College. He worked at Valley Medical Group for 29 years, where he gave all he had. He was a responsible and helpful person, to a fault, always on call 24/7 for anyone who needed help. He had an incredibly infectious laugh and was the life of the party. You knew he was around by his booming voice and the cadence of his boots. Mijito, you have left a big void in our hearts and lives. He also loved his dogs, "The Boys", and his Cadillacs. He was preceded in death by his dad and mom, Jesus and Consuelo Alvarez; and brother, Efrain. He is survived by his brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many great friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Southwest Celebration of Life Center, 2739 Panama Lane. 10:00 a.m. Mass will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013, at St. Francis of Assisi, 900 H Street.
