Andre Felix Amyot Sr., 85, of North Troy, passed away at his home on Thursday, August 11, 2005.
He was born in Irasburg on May 8, 1920, the son of Louis and Eleanor (Dube) Amyot. From 1935 to 1953 Andre owned and operated the family farms in the Orleans area. He then worked at Starr Transport, Indian Head Plywood, and retired from Kraft Cheese Plant in Troy in 1980.
On May 10, 1943 Andre married the former Jeanne Morin, who survives him. He is also survived by his children, Andre Amyot Jr. and his wife Rollande of North Troy, Robert Amyot and his wife Shirley of Southington, Connecticut, Denise Tetreault and her husband Robert of East Charleston, Rose Morse and her husband Wayne of Jay, Diane Cutting and her husband Steve of North Troy, Richard Amyot and his wife Penny of North Troy, and Lisa Guyette and her husband John of North Troy, his sisters, Gervaise Descheneau of Rockville, Connecticut, Madeline Descheneau of Springfield, Massachusetts, and Judy Morse of Orleans, sixteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Roland.
Friends may call at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, darling Hill Road, Newport (formerly Sias Ave.) on Friday, August 12 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 13 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in North Troy at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jerome Mercure officiating. Interment will follow at the Notre Dame cemetery in North Troy.
