Andrew Phillip Aycoth, 39, was called home on October 3, 2011. He was born in Monroe, NC on April 13, 1972, son of Randy and Tilly Aycoth. He attended Sun Valley High School and later graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Marine Biology.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, J. Hoyle and Mary T. Williams and paternal grandfather, H. O. "Hick" Aycoth, and two uncles, Mick Aycoth and John Williams.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. Visitation will follow the memorial service.
Left to cherish his memory, along with his parents, are his paternal grandmother, Hazel Aycoth; two siblings and their spouses, Rebecca and Eric Dockery, and Daniel and Brittany Aycoth; his nephew and niece, Wyatt and Baylee Dockery; best friend and fishing buddy, Scott Richardson; and a host of special uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved to kayak and spend his time outdoors. He especially loved the OBX.
Andrew struggled with diabetes his whole life. Now, he is set free from diabetes, fishing the most majestic waters of all, with his greatest catch yet: eternal life.
