Rochester, NH: Arthur J. Alimi, 82, died Friday, October 13, 2006, at the Rochester Manor in Rochester after a long period of failing health.
Mr. Alimi was born in Rochester, NH on November 2, 1923, the son of Angelo and Julia (Catilion) Alimi and was a lifelong resident of Rochester. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Rochester and was a co-owner of Collins Sport Goods in Rochester for many years.
During WWII he served with the Merchant Marines and during the Korean Conflict he served with the US Army. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW and the Rochester Historical Society.
Surviving members of the family include: his wife, Jeannette Alimi of Rochester, one brother, George Alimi of Rochester, one sister, Eva Rigazio of Lunenburg, MA, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held at the H. J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main Street, Rochester, NH on Sunday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Monday at St. Mary’s Church, 71 Lowell Street, Rochester with Fr. Pierre Baker officiating, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. To sign the on-line guest book please go to www.GrondinFuneralHome.com.
