Arthur "Artie" Ward Anton, born May 28, 1939, in New Jersey, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, after a series of illnesses, in Houston, Texas.
Preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marian of New Jersey, he is survived by his wife, Eileen McBay, his brothers, Harold (Dottie), Robert (Jeanette), Jan, his sister Jane McDevitt (Gerald), his former wife, Antoinette Akromis Anton, his four children; Craig Anton (Lesley), Toni Hipp (Mike), Brian Anton (Traci), Megan Anton and his seven grandchildren; Max, Will, Tom, Ruby, Delphine, Harris and Liam.
Artie had a great passion for music, history and art, and owned an extensive collection of jazz music. He loved making mixes of treasured recordings and giving them to friends and other jazz fans. Artie loved playing sports and was a lifelong Cornhuskers fan. He shared a love of laughter, and had a great sense of humor. Artie met and married Eileen McBay in Vail, Colorado twenty years ago, and moved to Houston. They enjoyed traveling and visiting his children and grandchildren.
