Asma Geha Aoun, 86, of Pleasant Street, Attleboro, a loving mother and grandmother, passed peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2009 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Maroun Aoun who passed on October 2, 1983.
Born in Lebanon on September 8, 1922, Mrs. Aoun was a daughter of the late Maroun Geha and Mariam Abou-Aziz. She settled in Attleboro in September 1990. A devoted wife and homemaker, Asma enjoyed spent time with her family and in later years enjoyed the company of her grandchildren.
Asma is described as a lady who enjoyed and was proud of her independence.
Asma is survived by her loving son: Michel M. Aoun and his wife Claude of Attleboro and two beloved grandchildren: Eli Maron Aoun and Rita Michelle Aoun, both of Attleboro. She was the beloved sister of the late Joseph Geha and Shafica George.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from 5 PM – 8 PM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A funeral will be conducted on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 9 AM from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro celebrated by the Rev. Edward Nedder. Mrs. Aoun will be laid to rest in North Purchase Cemetery, 825 North Main Street, Attleboro.
