1927 - 2007
Mrs. Barbara Alice Alberghini, 79, of North Troy died peacefully April 5, 2007 in Newport. She was born July 11, 1927 in Newport a daughter of Tom and Alice (Magoon) Brennan. On January 25, 1945 she married Lester Alberghini who predeceased her in 1994. Mrs. Alberghini was owner and operator of Alberghini’s Grocery Store in North Troy for many years. Among her hobbies,she enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, and she cherished her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and she also treasured her many close friendships. She is survived by two children: Leslie Bishop and her husband Bob of North Troy, and Tom Alberghini and his wife Linda of Rochester,NH. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Travis, Tara, Bianca and Jared and by two great grandchildren Max and Malli. She is survived by a brother Tom Brennan of Newport, and by a sister Dorothy Portughese of Brockton, Mass and by her cat Mr. George whom she has had for many years. She was predeceased by a brother Donald Brennan and by a sister Inez Hearne. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday April 9, 2007 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road with the Rev. Fred Barker officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12Noon until the hour of the service on Monday. Spring interment in North Troy Cemetery.
