Bessie “Momo” Anderson, age 90, of the Oak Grove community near Caddo Gap, died Sunday, November 27, 2005.
She was born on June 1, 1915 at Hopper, the daughter of Jim F. Thomas and Edna Yarbrough Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Anderson; two sisters, Eva Hall and Stella White; and her brother, Claburn Thomas.
As a young girl, her family moved to the Oak Grove community where she lived the rest of her life. She was known, not only by her grandchildren, but most of the community as “Momo”. She was a homemaker and loved gardening and tending to her flowers.
She is survived by her son, Glen Anderson; her daughter and son-in-law, Ruby and Clifford Wright all of the Oak Grove community near Caddo Gap; three granddaughters, Darla Standerfer of Mount Ida, Tammy McCarter and Tonya Roberts both of Norman; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; many cousins; and a host of friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2005 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with the Revs. Robert Watson and Ray Brownholtz officiating.
Visitation will be held Monday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Thomas, Gary Holmes, Larry Deaton, Charles Prescott, Otho West and David “Budger” McCarter.
