Carla B. Adams, age 87, of Amity, died Friday, May 22, 2009.
She was born on June 12, 1921, at Smithville, Oklahoma, the daughter of George Horn and Eddie Robbins Horn. On October 15, 1960, she was married to Charles Ronald Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Joyce Horn; her brother, Jimmy Horn; and her step-mother, Myrtle Horn.
She was a member of Caney Valley Missionary Baptist Church, attended Caddo Gap Schools, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, canning, gardening and cooking.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Adams of Amity; her son, Edward Garrett of Bonnerdale; her granddaughter, Cammie Simmons and her husband, Robert, of Amity; one great-granddaughter, Sonya Simmons of Amity; two brothers and one sister-in-law, T. C. Horn of Caddo Gap and George “Sonny” Horn of Redding, California; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, May 26, 2009, in the Caney Valley Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Howell officiating.
Interment will be in the Caney Valley Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Pallbearers will be Erman Mauldin, Kenneth Doster, Tommy Adams, John L. Burnett, Dennis Evans and James Scott.
