Catherine Adams, age 72, of Glenwood, died Friday, December 7, 2007.
She was born on September 28, 1935 in Minco, Oklahoma, the daughter of Clarence Wallace Gilliland and Mary Dorinda English Gilliland. On December 28, 1957 she was married to Herman Adams, who preceded her in death on May 16, 2003. She was also preceded in the death by her parents.
Catherine was retired after fifty-two years of working with Shelby Manufacturing in Glenwood. She was a member of Caney Valley Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed embroidering and sewing, and playing on the computer.
She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Evelyn Gilliland of Point Cedar and Wilbert and Dortha Gilliland of Hot Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 9, 2007, in Caney Valley Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Howell and Bro. Bobby Golden officiating.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
Interment will be in the Caney Valley Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Tolleson, Joe Floyd Wright, Don Baker, Harlon Duren, John Thornton, Billy Gilliland, Robby King and Bobby King.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Shelby Manufacturing, Dr. Timothy Webb and Dr. Brad Lemay.
The family will be at the home of James and Evelyn Gilliland, located at 399 Beech Tree Road in Point Cedar, Arkansas.
