Christopher Barnhardt CONCORD Christopher Alan Barnhardt, 45, of Concord, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at his home. The family will receive friends at Christopher's shop, 2245 Wishon Rd., Concord, NC 28025, Saturday, Jan. 26, from 12 to 2 p.m., and a graveside service will follow at his home. Christopher was born Nov. 1, 1967, in Cabarrus County, to Betty Jane Cook Barnhardt and the late George Edward Barnhardt. Christopher was a Master Taxidermist as well as a sculptor and painter with pieces on display at the Smithsonian Institute and Bank of America Stadium. He traveled the world and especially loved Africa. He enjoyed playing the banjo and farming. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Christina Whitley Barnhardt, of the home; son, Joshua Barnhardt and wife, Anna Harris Barnhardt; daughters, Samantha Shue and husband, Brandan, Kristina Mae Barnhardt, and Kendyl Jane Barnhardt; grandchildren, Michael Reily and Sophia Jane; mother, Betty Jane Cook Barnhardt; sisters, Beverly Miller, Kimberly Wilder, of Florida, and Debra Barnhardt; and many nieces, nephews and good friends.
