Mrs. Clara Ruth “Maw” Anderson Adkins, age 51, of 131 Gray Fox Drive, Lawndale, died Sunday, January 4, 2004 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born February 6, 1952 in Pike County, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Cecil J. Anderson and Flora Fay Anderson. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of the Redeemed, Lawndale.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Les Adkins; a daughter, Flora Jane Adkins; a grandson, Leslie Arkade Adkins and a granddaughter, Alisa Danielle Adkins; two brothers, Ernest Lee Anderson and Raymond Eugene Anderson; two sisters, Ruby Lena Royster and Mary Louise Reno.
She is survived by three sons and daughter-in-laws, Kevin and Tina Adkins, Cecil Ray and Tammy Adkins and James Daniel and Lisa Adkins all of the home; a daughter, Alice Anderson of Shelby; three brothers, Harold Anderson and Vernon Anderson, both of Ohio, and Robert Anderson of Shelby; four sisters, Lucille Pollitt, Lillie Gilmore, Linda Anderson and Judy Gardner all of Ohio; a grandson, James Daniel Adkins, Jr. and a granddaughter, Trista Elkins, both of the home; 9 step-children; 47 step-grandchildren; 78 step-great-great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Kingston. The body will lie in state there from 1:30 to 2:00. The Revs J.D. Adams and Clayton Hudson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church on Dallas Hwy.
