Mrs. Dorothy Robbs Beam, 77, of 1106 Sunset Road, Cherryville, died Thursday, November 3, 2005 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
Born in Gaffney, South Carolina on July 18, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Ralph B. Robbs and Florence Dellinger Robbs. She retired as a secretary for Dover Textiles, Cherryville. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cherryville where she was a member of the Irene McSwain Sunday school class. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 156 Cherryville, the Tryon Resolves Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Village Garden Club, and the Jen Williams Round Table Book Club.
In additon to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Gardner Beam.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Eddie LeFeveres, a granddaughter, Meghan LeFevers, a sister, Margaret Robbs and a brother, Jack Robbs, all of Cherryville, a brother and sister-in- law, R.B. and Becky Robbs of Lincolnton and also a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2005 at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Vince Hefner and Rev. David Day officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Sunday, at the church just prior to the service.
At other times the family will be at the home, 1106 Sunset Road, Cherryville, NC.
