Edna Setzer Alexander, 95, died on July 2, 2005 at the Fairways in State College, PA. She was a lifelong resident of Statesville, NC prior to coming to the Fairways.
She was the daughter of the late William T. and JoAnna Setzer of Statesville, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold F. Alexander, in 1990. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Lippard of Statesville and Edith Milholland and husband Clark of Stony Point, NC; her only son, Shelton Alexander and his wife, Judith of State College, PA; two granddaughters, Cynthia Alexander of Washington, DC and Catherine Doppelt and her husband, Harvey of Chappaqua, NY along with her beloved great-grandsons, Michael and Eric Doppelt.
Ednawas a devoted wife, mother and homemaker who shared her abundant life with her high school sweetheart, Arnold Alexander, until his death in 1990. She was an accomplished seamstress, a giftedcarpenter and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyedgrowing flowers, gardening and preparing wonderful meals for family and guests. She was a lifelong member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church and participated in many church activities starting when she was a child.
Her funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m.on Saturday, July 9, 2005at the Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville, NC, followed by burial in nearby Oakwood Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Presbyterian Church c/o Jerry Bustle, 810 Island Ford Road, Statesville, NC28625.
