ENFIELD, NH --- Elizabeth Jeanne Reiter Ibey LaFontaine, 81, a former longtime resident of Enfield, NH, passed into the light on Sunday July 6th, 2003 in Glenwood Springs, CO. She was born in Brooklyn, NY February 11, 1922, a daughter of the late Edgar Frank William Reiter and Gunhilda Marie Olson Reuterborg. She was a graduate of the Pratt Institute in New York and had worked as a laboratory technician for Lederle Laboratories in New Jersey. She had also been employed at the LaSalette Shrine in Enfield, Dartmouth Medical School, and retired as Secretary of the Employee Health Clinic at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover. She was a beautiful woman who found great comfort in creating her beautiful gardens. She enjoyed walking at the ocean, people, books, and was a talented artist and embroiderer. She will be lovingly remembered by her family as "Always our Mom & Grammy – Now an Angel".
She was pre-deceased by her first husband: James E. Ibey who died Aug. 23, 1965; a son: Mark J. Ibey who died Sept. 1, 1969; a brother: John Reiter; and a sister: Thelma Reiter.
Survivors include her husband: Raymond LaFontaine of Glenwood Springs, CO whom she married November 18, 1978; 2 daughters: Kristine A. Ibey of Enfield, NH and Beth M. Laurie of Lebanon, NH; 2 sons: Michael J. Ibey of Enfield, NH and Scott C. Ibey of San Diego, CA; a Step-daughter: Jill LaFontaine of Glenwood Springs, CO; 10 Grandchildren; 1 Great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Ricker Funeral Home, 433 U.S. Route 4 in Enfield on Tuesday evening July 22nd from 7 – 9 PM. Graveside services will be held Wednesday July 23rd at 10 AM in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Enfield, NH.
