Ernest N. Andersen, age 83, of Hot Springs, died Wednesday, October 12, 2005.
Mr. Andersen was born September 24, 1922 in Omaha, NE, the son of Nels Andersen and Olga Larson Andersen. He was married August 4, 1957 to Lorraine Graf. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
He was retired from Magic Springs Theme Park; was a Lutheran; and served the United States Army in the First Ranger Battalion during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Graf Andersen of Hot Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Ernene and Guy Mockelman of Omaha, NE; son and daughter-in-law, James and Arlene Andersen of Hot Springs; step-daughter, Kathleen Gallagher of Hot Springs; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 15, 2005 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Rev. George Vincent and James Andersen officiating.
Interment services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 17, 2005 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock, with full military honors provided by the United States Army Honor Guard and the Thaddeus H. Caraway V.F.W. Post #2278.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Ahmad M. Safar and Staff at the V. A. Hospital, Dr. David E. Pruitt and Staff at St. Joseph’s Mercy Cancer Center, and Hot Springs Hospice.
