RICHFORD Ė Frederick Lloyd Blair, 77, passed away Wednesday morning November 15, 2006 in Richford at the home of his daughter with his loving family at his side.
He was born May 14, 1929 in St. Albans the son of the late Lloyd & Lydia (Domina) Blair.
Fred was a life long resident of Richford and was a 1947 graduate of Richford High School. He also received an Associates degree in Sociology from St. Michaelís College in 1956. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post # 12 of Richford. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force he married the love of his life, Kathleen Walsh on June 14, 1952. She predeceased Fred on July 25, 1990. He was employed at the Missisquoi Pulp Mill for 30 plus years retiring in 1991. Fred was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He had a gift of gab and loved spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan Blair of Colchester, Wendy Mitchell and her husband William of Hinesburg, Patty Blair of Baltimore, MD, and Judy Noyes and her husband Donald of Richford; a brother, Arthur Blair and his wife Thelma of Granby, CT; his grandchildren, Nickie Pouteaux, Lee Noyes, Maureen Mitchell, and Timothy Mitchell; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, Fred was predeceased by a brother, Robert Blair.
A graveside service will be held Saturday afternoon November 18, 2006 at 1:00 PM at All Saints Cemetery in Richford with Rev. Frank Eksterowicz officiating. There will be no visiting hours.
