Gerald D. Adkins, Sr., age 63 of Burley Park Road in East Wakefield, NH, died suddenly on Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at home.
Born October 25, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio, he was a son of the late Samuel J. and Orpha (Miller) Ickes, Sr.
He resided in East Wakefield, NH for one year, having previously resided in Rochester, NH for over 20 years and was a longtime resident of Danvers, Massachusetts.
Gerald retired from the City of Danvers, Massachusetts where he worked as a Custodian. He had also worked as a Custodian with the Town of Farmington, NH Parks and Recreation Department.
A hardworking, good natured person, he was always willing to lend a hand to others. He loved being outdoors, in the garden, and he loved his Golden Retrievers.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years: Cecilia C. (Caskin) Adkins of East Wakefield, NH, 3 children: Carol M. & husband Thomas Kucharski of Alton, NH, Gerald D. Adkins, Jr. of Farmington, NH and Janet A. & husband Todd Williams of Acton, Maine, 2 grandsons: Jeremy R. Adkins and Jonathan D. Wall, both of Barrington, NH, a sister: Barbara Mooney of Texas and 3 brothers: Sam Adkins of Wolfeboro, NH, Ron Koke of Ohio and Don Ickes of California, also many Nieces and Nephews.
Calling hours are Saturday afternoon, May 20, 2006 from 2-4 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street in Farmington, NH, family and friends are welcome.
