WEST COLUMBIA%%Services for Hubert Herman “Bunky” Adams, 76, of West Columbia, will be held at 3pm Monday in West Columbia Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2310 Platt Springs Rd., officiated by Rev. Terry Roberts and Rev. Brad Davis. Burial and military rites will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Harold Prater, Bobby Rivera, Michael Lake, Henry Keels, Gerald Stoudemire and Lonnie Sheppard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Kneece, Butch Smith, Jerry Wilkins, David Tucker, Jamie Newman, Furman Hardin and Tim Shirley. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Mr. Adams, widower of Juanita Bundrick Adams, died Friday, November 19, 2004. Born in Joanna, SC, he was the son of the late Willie E. and Lillie McCollum Adams. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II during which he served aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt Aircraft Carrier. Mr. Adams was a member of West Columbia Pentecostal Holiness Church and was retired from Pacific Columbia Mills after 34 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post #79 and the Deerfield Hunt Club. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and in turn, was dearly loved by his family and friends.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn “Mandy” and Jeff Flanders of West Columbia; son and daughter-in-law, John William “Billy” and Cindy Adams of West Columbia; sisters, Ruth Thomas of Clinton, Juanita Lake of Ballentine, Jeanette Sox and Mildred Bundrick, both of West Columbia; grandchildren, Amanda Adams Cooper and husband Randy, Terry Virgil Adams and wife Jennifer; great grandchildren, Brandon Davis Adams, William Dakota Cooper, and Chloe Grace Cooper. Mr. Adams was predeceased by sisters, Marie Keels, Verta Mae Sanders, Bessie Prater, Emma Adams, and Hazel Moore; and brothers, Erskine Adams, William H. Adams, Richard O. Adams, and Arthur A. Adams.
