Jack Armstrong Obituary

1934 - 2006
Mr. Jack Armstrong 72, of Brownington died peacefully July 23, 2006 in Newport. He was born March 22, 1934 in Troy a son of Orfice and Gertrude (Reed) Armstrong. On March 15, 1991 he married the former Claudia Groom who survives him. Mr. Armstrong was a letter carrier for the United States Post Office retiring in 1992. Among his hobbies, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, carpentry work, and he loved spending time and taking rides with his dog Buddy. He was a member of the Valley Lodge #106 F&AM, the Shrine, and the Orleans American Legion Post 23. He is survived by his wife Claudia Armstrong of Brownington and by the following children: Bonnie Provencher and her friend Ron Griffin of Averill, Barbara Meier and her friend Dennis Demarais of Barton, Steve Armstrong and his friend Debbie of Enfield,New Hampshire, Brent Armstrong and his wife Lynn of Richmond,Va; and Terry Armstrong of White River Junction. He is also survived by the following grandchildren: Shane and Terry Provencher, Debra Mae Martel, Heather Neil, Robert and Samantha Armstrong, and Cheyenne Armstrong. He is survived by 12 great grandchildren, and by two sisters: Jean Tousant and her husband Gordon of Syracuse,NY; and Joan Armstrong of Washington and by numerous nieces,nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandson Jonathan Provencher on July 21, 2006. Friends may call at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road,(formerly Sias Ave) on Tuesday July 25, 2006 for both Jack Armstrong and his grandson Jonathan Provencher where funeral services will be held for them both on Wednesday July 26, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Fred Barker officiating. Interment for them both will be held at the Pleasantview Cemetery in Orleans.Members of Masonic Valley Lodge # 106 will conduct a Masonic service on Tuesday evening July 25, 2006 at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
