Johnny “Big John” David Abee, 37, of 311 Rimrock Road, Harmony, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at his residence.
Mr. Abee was born September 2, 1970, in Burke County and was the son of Johnny Ray Abee and the late JoAnn Cook Abee. He was a concrete mixer driver and a member of the Harmony Volunteer Fire Department.
Big John is survived by his wife, Teresa Gibson Abee of the home; two daughters, Maggie Blankenship (Lynn) of Statesville and Sarah JoAnn Abee of the home; one son, Peter David Abee of the home; his father and step-mother, Johnny Ray and Nancy Abee of Harmony; four sisters, Tammy A. Blom (Doug) of Columbia, SC, Tina A. Sloan (Brian) of Statesville, Hannah A. Osborne (Michael) and Jewel Murdis Abee, both of Statesville; and a brother, Timothy Ray Abee (Deena) of Mocksville.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday in the Ernest M. Troutman Memorial Chapel of Reavis Funeral Home in Harmony with the Rev. Randy Goodin officiating. Burial will follow on the family farm. Members of the Harmony Fire Department will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Saturday in the chapel of Reavis Funeral Home in Harmony from 6:00 P.M. until and at other times will assemble at the residence of his father, Johnny R. Abee, 354 Rimrock Road.
