Joseph Philip Baron, 70, of Black Lick, PA died on Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at his home.
He was born October 25, 1932 in Marsteller, Cambria Co., PA, a son of Joseph and Anna Kitko Baron.
Mr. Baron was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Graceton, PA and a longtime member of the Burrell Twp. Rod and Gun Club.
Prior to his retirement in 1979, he was employed by Westinghouse Specialty Metals, Blairsville for 20 years.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Nancy Wasilko Baron whom he married June 2, 1956; a son, Joseph M. Baron, Bristow, VA; three daughters, Tina Alexander and her husband, Douglas, Homer City, PA; Suzanne Campbell and her husband, Richard, R.D.#4, Blairsville, PA and Lisa Baron, Black Lick, PA; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Anna Meterko and her husband, Michael, Burnside, PA; Julia Susick and her husband, Michael, Marsteller, PA; Betsy Haluska and her husband, James, Patton, PA and Theresa Rayba and her husband, William, Marsteller, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Martha Lindahl.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake Service will be held on Friday at 3:30 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Graceton, PA with Fr. Larry Kiniry as celebrant.
Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA
Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion.
