Kristine A. Ibey, 60, a life-long resident of Enfield, passed into the light Sunday, May 27, 2007, at home.
She was born in Hanover, NH on November 22, 1946, daughter of the late James E. Ibey and Elizabeth J. (Reiter) Ibey. She graduated from Mascoma Valley Regional High School in 1964. After high school, she attended the Claremont School of Nursing. While there, Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital offered her one of two spaces in a special training program that enabled her to become a certified Histological Technician. Upon certification, she was employed at Valley Regional Hospital and later by Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital. After having her first child, she became a homemaker and beloved mother, a role in which she took great pride and enjoyed immensely. She will be lovingly remembered by her family as “Always our Mom - now our Angel.”
Mom was a beautiful woman, a lover of animals, people, nature, gardening and history. She took great pleasure in cooking for friends and family, especially at Christmas. She had a passion for all things British and traveled to England on several occasions. She was an award winning amateur photographer, capturing images of her travels and beloved pets. In her later years, Kristine developed an enthusiastic interest in matters concerning the spirit, and spent her final years as both an Astrological Counselor and Spiritual Guide.
Her brother, Mark, predeceased her. She leaves behind a son Jamie, of Lebanon and a daughter Erin, of Stroud, England, sister, Beth Laurie, of Lebanon, brothers, Scott of Spring Valley, CA and Michael of Enfield along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Ricker Funeral Home, 433 US Route 4 in Enfield on Thursday, June 7, from 6 pm to 8 pm. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 on Friday, June 8 at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Enfield.
