Franklin..Mr. Leslie P. Andrus, 81, of Hutchinson St., Franklin, formerly of Northfield, died at Franklin Regional Hospital on Feb. 25, 2003.
He was born in Bristol, NH on Jan. 19, 1922, the son of Paul and Sadie (Matthews) Andrus.
He was raised in Hill and later resided in Northfield for several years before moving to
During World War II, he served with the US Navy in the Pacific. He was stationed aboard Destroyer DD475.
Several years ago, Mr. Andrus worked at The JP Stevens Co. in Franklin. He later worked for the State of NH Fish & Game Dept. assisting with conservation duties at area dams and fish
Ladders. Mr. Andrus then was employed at LW Packard Co. in Ashland for several years until retiring in 1985. Over the years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and making wood crafts. He offered his wares at many craft fairs.
Family members include his wife of 56 years, Mrs. Mildred (Thomas) Andrus of Franklin;
3 children: Paula Dwinal of Hooksett; Everett Andrus of Tilton; and Frank Andrus of Sanbornton; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a sister, Myrtle McAdams of Concord; a brother, Clayton Andrus of Tilton, and nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, March 2, 2003 from 1-3:00 pm at Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park St., Northfield. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Madelyn Klose, officiating. Spring burial will be in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia.
