Letitia C. Anderton, a resident of Clinton Twp. since 1972, died Thursday evening, following a long illness in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Clinton Twp. She was 70 years of age.
Letitia was born Margaret Letitia Cowher on April 6, 1935 in Sandy Ridge, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Catherine and the late Earl Cowher. She was united in marriage to William S. Anderton in Kansas City, Kansas in 1954. The couple made their home in many places, as William was a devoted career man in the U.S.Military service. She had worked in her early days as a Nurses aid and later for several years as a Treatment Aid at the Church of Christ Care Center in Clinton Twp. Letitia was an active member of Utica Church of Christ since 1968. She was an avid reader, enjoyed video games and was a Detroit Red Wings Fan. She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Letitia is survived by her loving husband, William; her devoted mother, Catherine Cowher; her loving children, Mark (Janet), Paul, John and Michael (Marie); grandchildren, Melissa, Jessica, Bobby Sue, Jennifer, Brittany, Briana, Michele, Jennifer, Michael D., Michael, Kathleen, Kristine, and Stephanie and by her brothers, Earl & Howard Cowher and sister, Mary Beers. She was preceded in death by her son, David on December 8, 2002.
Visitation will be held at the Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd., Fraser, Michigan, Sunday from 5pm till 9pm and Monday 12noon till 9pm with funeral services, Tuesday at 11am. Burial will follow in Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton Twp.
