EAST HIGHGATE – Linda J. Burnor, age 46, passed away Friday evening May 5, 2006 at her home with her loving family at her side following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer for the past 2 years.
She was born February 19, 1960 in Burlington, VT the daughter of Delores (Pidgeon) Salter and the late Raymond Salter Sr.
Linda was a resident of East Highgate for most of her life. She was a 1978 graduate of Essex Junction Educational Center. Linda loved children and ran a day care center for 8 years. She also loved to go camping with her family and dog, Smily. Her favorite place to camp was Lake Carmi State Park having made a special camping trip there last week. Linda and her husband John celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on August 9, 2005 by renewing their wedding vows at Holy Family Church in Essex with Rev. Charles Ranges SSE presiding, followed by a celebration at Lake Carmi State Park.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Burnor of East Highgate they were married on August 9, 1980; her children, Andrew Burnor his wife Holly and their children, Kodi & Kelsi of Swanton, John & Jane Burnor Jr. and their daughters Cossondra and due in July Julia of East Highgate, Jeremy Burnor his Fiancé Heather Allison and their son Ayden of East Highgate, Daniel Burnor of East Highgate, and Cheyenne McDade of East Highgate; her mother, Delores Salter of Milton; 5 brothers and their wives, Allen & Judy Salter of Westford, Randy & Alice Salter of Huntington, Raymond & Rose Salter of East Highgate, Dana & Heather Salter of Fairfax, and Eric Salter of Essex; 2 sisters Penny LeClair and her husband Ken of Grand Isle, and Lori Salter of Essex; her mother-in-law, Nellie Burnor of Highgate Ctr.; 2 sisters-in-law and their husbands, Joan & William Horne of Pearland, TX, and Martha & Robert Graham of Highgate Ctr.; several nieces and nephews; her faithful dog, Smily.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon May 10, 2006 at 1:00 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Rev. John Meagher officiating. Interment will follow in the Rice Hill Cemetery in Sheldon.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls.
